Job Description
- Directly contribute to the design, build, deployment and transition of cyber security solutions aligned with recognized best practice, Defence security policies, principles and frameworks. 
- Work with internal and external technical teams to ensure integration and operation of cyber security tools with all ICT services in the Defence stack. 
- Conduct set-to-work activities and support remediation of cyber toolsets on Defence systems. 
- Author, review, maintain and contribute to Solution Designs, Standard Operating Procedures, As-Built-As-Configured and other required documentation artefacts. 
Required skills and experience
- Experience working as a Security Technician within the Defence environment. 
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing and supporting cyber toolsets on large scale, deployable systems operating in low bandwidth, geographically dispersed environments. 
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in applying cyber-security controls and practices aligned to zero-trust architecture principles. 
- Strong knowledge and experience deploying and integrating Carbon Black Application Control, FortiClient/FortiEMS and Ivanti Device and Application Control. 
- Strong knowledge of security principles including Zero trust model, Tiered model, Security boundaries. 
- Ability to work independently and part of a team, good communication, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
Desirable skills and experience
- Knowledge and experience of Defence systems. 
- Knowledge and experience of the security threat landscape and related security mitigations. 
- Knowledge of the following frameworks and standards: 
- Australian Information Security Manual (ISM) 
- Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) 
- Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) 
- US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
