Job Description
This role will work within the Warfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation (WSO), ICT Delivery Division, Defence Digital Group, Department of Defence.
The Installation Lead will be required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to:
Drive the Installation Plan, change and release processes whilst striving to improve the end user experience.
Develop the schedule for the build and installations of systems onboard Navy platforms.
Responsible for the efficiency of the installation program, identify and implement activities to improve the program quality in support of the FIE.
During installations, engage with project team, Navy members, In Service Support Contractors (ISSC), Systems Program Offices’ (SPO), and Support elements.
Chair the Platform Integration Working Groups and draft associated minutes.
Lead multiple platforms for the Installation activities as delegated by Installation manager, Platforms such as ECCPB, OPV, LHD, LSD, AOR, FFH, CCSM and DDG class.
Assist in development and review of the installation components of the following plans and schedules:
Installation Plans
Schedules and communications artefacts
Transport and Logistics Plans
Transition into Service Plan
Risk Management Plan and risk assessments
Procurement processes
Lessons Learnt
Provide report to WSO leadership during installations.
Participate and contribute to delivery team meetings and other various meetings and reviews.
Coordination and liaison with other relevant parties and functions within Defence.
Required skills and experience
Essential - Experience working on a large ICT project within Defence
Essential - Installation and IT Project Management experience in the delivery and support to Defence, especially Navy Platforms.
Essential - Previous Navy experience on installation and transition programs.
Experience working with Platform SPOs, Group and familiarity of Engineering processes involved in delivering capability to Navy.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Defence environment.
Microsoft Project
Attention to detail, with ability to produce clear, concise documentation.
Ability to adapt to fast pace environment.
Disciplined to work alone, Self-starter and part of a small group.
Proven stakeholder and relationship management skills.
Desirable skills and experience
Experience/Exposure with the SEA2273 project and ICT Project delivery (Deployed systems).
Defence background e.g. ex-military/Navy or APS member.
Confidence and ability to take charge of multi-disciplinary teams.
Platform SPO and Group engagement experience
